What is new construction?  It’s building something from the ground up, where no structure existed before. That means, no existing elements to match. No walls, doors, siding, moldings or textures and colors to match. Everything can be decided without regard to the past. It’s like a blank canvas. Just you, your contractor, and the freedom to make all the decisions!  Sounds great doesn’t it?

If you have talked with others that have taken on this challenge, you may hear a variety of stories, some good, and some bad.  Building a new home can be a daunting experience. Along with the freedom to make the decisions comes a lot of responsibility. Decisions about colors, fixtures, materials, windows, doors, room layout….. well, the list just goes on and on.  Things that sounded fun and easy in the planning stage can suddenly cause shortness of breath and chest pains. What you saw with your mind’s eye can become blurred by headaches.  The schedule slips, the price goes up and your contractor is nowhere to be found.

You need a contractor who is your partner, not your opponent. Your choice will affect your satisfaction during construction, and later, when you’re living with the results.
